OTOPLASTY
An otoplasty may be performed on one or both ears to reduce the prominence in the frontal view. It is typically performed under a general anaesthetic and a combination of techniques are often required to tailor the procedure to your needs. Parents enquiring about this procedure should note that Dr Mickelburgh does not usually operate on children younger than 8 due to the post-operative recovery requirements of wearing a head bundle and the ability to tolerate the pain caused by this procedure.
