Queensland has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world and Dr Mickelburgh is keenly aware that this is a significant health issue in the community. She has extensive experience in the management of face and body skin cancers.  She has worked in the head and neck units of both tertiary hospitals in Queensland and will refer to those clinics when necessary. She also has many years of experience treating patients with melanoma and performs sentinel lymph nodes biopsy and nodal dissection when required. She has close relationships with the radiation and medical oncologists should referral be required for adjuvant therapy.
